Description

Elda is the first armchair to use large surfaces of fiberglass reinforced plastic. Its design was created in 1963 and began to be produced in 1965 by the publisher Comfort, and later by F.LLi Longhi in the 2000s. For its design, Joe Colombo was inspired by ship hulls and used shipbuilding technology to create it. The self-supporting structure is placed on a swiveling base with a superimposition of padded cushions covered in leather. With its enveloping upper part, this piece of furniture creates a space in the room that isolates it acoustically from its surroundings. Colombo named it after his wife.

Mousse: polyuréthane.
Cuir: Nero Madras Alce. Cuir semi-aniline
