Description
The Coupé series, designed by Joe Colombo, was initially designed as a variant of the Spider family, daughter of the same designer, of which it retains the base and the stem. The simple and ingenious mechanism that connects the head to the head allows to direct the light beam in different directions, moving the lampshade up, down and sideways. In 1968, the Coupé won the “International Design Award” from the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago. It is part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York and of the “Neue Sammlung” museum in Munich. The structure of the luminaire is in metal. The base, connected to the wall and the lampshade are lacquered in yellow. The switch is accessible directly on the lampshade. In very good original condition.
