This floor lamp was designed by the famous designer Ettore Sotsass for the Italian publishing house Artemide in 1982. In 1981, the designer founded Memphis. With financial backing from the head of Artemide, the group became an immediate success. Innovative, playful shapes in bright colors, made from simple but cheerful combinations of shapes and inexpensive materials. The Callimaco floor lamp is characterized by its innovative, colorful design, typical of the Memphis movement.

The overall structure is metal. It features a conical gray base topped by a beige cylindrical body with a chrome handle. A dimmer switch is also integrated. The top is an inverted cone. It diffuses a soft light thanks to its LED bulb.
