Description

The Swan chair was created in 1958 by the designer Arne Jacobsen for the avant-garde lobby of the Royal SAS Hotel in Copenhagen. The Swan chair is part of a series of furniture specially designed for the hotel. The designer's ambition was to create a "modern garden" with rounded and organic shapes. The shell, made of fiberglass-reinforced polyurethane, is covered with foam. The base consists of a chrome-plated and satin-finished swivel part on a welded steel tube. The individual parts are welded and treated with matte zinc.
