Description
This sideboard is a custom-made piece from the 1970s. It is made of Rio rosewood, a type of wood known for its density, hardness, and resistance to humidity, which can exhibit different colors. It has been widely used for veneering furniture in Western Europe since the 17th century. The finish is typically varnished, accentuating the contrasting grain of this dark wood. The trade of Rio rosewood has been completely banned for all specimens cut after 1992 due to overexploitation. This sideboard features multiple storage compartments. It stands on four legs with brass pads. The sideboard is divided into two parts. The left part contains four removable shelves. The right part consists of three compartments: one with a shelf and two drawers, the central compartment with a light, and the last one with a shelf and two drawers lined with blue felt. The interior is lacquered white, and the shelves and drawers are made of Rio rosewood.
En bon état avec quelques traces d’usures liés à l’âge et l’utilisation. Fêle présent sur le pied droit à peine visible, petits jeux avec les portes.
