Description

Pierre Paulin, Self-taught, Pierre Paulin freed himself from design standards from the start of his career. While Streamline designers were trying to established rounded lines for refined and comfortable works, he goes even further. “The armchair should be more than a functional element. It should be friendly, fun and colorful,” he says. Applying his own rule, he designs colorfull furnitures (almost exclusively armchairs, his trademark), with rounded, sometimes asymmetrical lines. The orange slice, consisting of two beech shells forming two slices. Raised on a chromed metal base, this chair is designed to be an office chair. The large shells that form both the backrest and the seat are pressed so as to be slightly curved. Covered with foam, to allow the armchair to offer a soft seat and at the same time a firm hold. It therefore incorporates the necessary comfort for daily use. The Orange slice is therefore functional, playful and original. This one is reupholstered in navy blue bouclé fabric.
