Description
Amanta armchair by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, from the 60's. The Amanta model was the first piece designed by Mario Bellini for the beginnings of the Italian company. He was inspired by the Barcelona chair by Ludwig Mies Van de Rohe to produce one of the very first modular sofas. This series is no longer produced today, however, there is a second version that was released in 1975, which differs in some structural points such as the removal of the rear slit, the withdrawal of the buttons, or the addition of a cushion on the seat, but the innovation was brought by an armrest module. The armchair has a cubic shape. The frame is made of a single piece of reinforced polyester with a slit in the middle of the backrest to reinforce the structure's resistance. It consists of 3 independent cushions from the structure with three covered buttons on the backrest and three on the seat, tightening the covering. In addition, the armchair does not have a base. The B&B Italia logo is also molded under the structure. In very good condition, fully reupholstered in our workshop.
